Nicole Richie, PhD, is the Vice President and Global Head of Health Equity & Population Science at Genentech, Roche. She leads the product development vision and strategies to enhance the representation of understudied populations in clinical research and optimize the use of Roche medicines.
With over 15 years of clinical and translational research experience, Dr. Richie has served as a lead clinical scientist and business strategy leader in product development. She co-leads Genentech/Roche’s Advancing Inclusive Research Program, addressing disparities in clinical research to advance science, support patient access, and improve outcomes.
Her leadership has been recognized by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) as a Rising Star for 2022, Life Science Voices Top Industry Leaders in 2021, and PharmaVoice Top 100 Most Inspiring Leaders in the Life Sciences Industry for 2020. Dr. Richie’s work in population science and inclusive research strategies has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at medical congresses, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Clinical Cancer Research, the American Association of Cancer Research, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She has authored publications in translational medicine and clinical research across various disease areas and clinical study phases.
Dr. Richie serves on the Board of Advisors for Women of Color in Pharma and is a member of Genentech’s Advancing Inclusive Research External Council. She is a frequent invited speaker and expert panelist at events such as the BIO International Convention, Congressional Hispanic Caucus Annual Legislative Event, and PhRMA Partnering for Health Equity Summit.
Dr. Richie holds a PhD in Pathobiology and Molecular Medicine from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
